Your Inspector
Christopher Schott
I was born and raised on a farm here in Cowlitz County. My wife and I were married in 1990. We have 3 grown children and 3 grandchildren. My wife and I owned a Cub Cadet (Lawn and Garden, Tractor dealership) for several years. I also had a "Handyman" business called Husband For Rent. I was good at it, but I didn't quite enjoy that. My wife is a Realtor, and one day I went with her to a home inspection and decided this is what I needed to be doing. When I came back from my training, I never looked at a building the same again.
I am a perfectionist and people tell me I have the brain of an engineer. This to some is a frustrating personality flaw but it is also why I am so good at my job. I am not a lazy inspector. I work hard for you, to identify things that might take you six months or longer to find. I am extremely thorough, yes in some cases that may mean a longer inspection if there is a lot to document but its important to me to not miss anything that might cost you money down the road. I am however, not perfect and yes, I might miss something, my promise to you is that I will always do my best to not miss anything.
Life on the farm taught me a lot about many things. A strong work ethic is the lesson that follows me everywhere. I give 110% to everything I do. I genuinely love what I do, I enjoy helping homeowners understand their home and how to care for it. I am not a "Sky is falling" kind of guy either. With every problem their is a solution. Sometimes those solutions are not worth it to a buyer, and sometimes they are. My job is to give you as much information as you need to make that decision.

I am a full time inspector and average about 200 inspections a year. I only do one a day to make sure I can give you my full attention, so I'm not worried about the needed time and getting to the next job. A lot of my time at inspections is actually spent talking with the client. I answer all your questions the best that I can. There is no bad question. I go over all my findings with you so you know what to expect in the report. The report is emailed to you the same day usually within an hour of the completion of the inspection. If you can not attend an inspection, I can meet with you later or go over the report or over the phone with you.
